With the beginning of 2012, students from PDRC headed to UK under the youth exchange program of VSO Nepal; in coordination with VSO UK and Social Awareness Center, Nepal. The students are Nirmala Nepali from Dang and Arati B K from Bardiya. Both of them were the beneficiaries of our program called Empowering Dalit Daughters (EDD). Under this program, we select highly motivated Dalit daughters and provide them the best possible education together with leadership skills.

The exchange program aims at promoting intercultural dialogue between the youths from UK and Nepal. The youths aged between 18-25 are brought together and asked to make a real difference in the lives of disadvantaged people in the period of six months. They spent 12 weeks in Surkhet, Nepal and will spend further 12 weeks in Plymouth, UK. Such opportunity will provide them with the first hand knowledge and experience of development work and are in turn able to contribute to their respective community.
