PDRC Granted 22 Scholarships

 Kathmandu- November 23, 2014 – PDRC awarded scholarship to 15 students who are doing 10+2 and payback scholarship to 7 students enrolled in bachelor level. Out of 22 scholarships, 19 scholarships were granted through Dr. Tom Jacobsen Fund, established under the name of Norwegian Engineer Dr. Tom Jacobsen while 3 scholarships are sponsored by a former PDRC board member Reemaya Nepali who is currently residing in the United States. The scholarships are provided to the students for the tenure of their designated academic program.

PDRC has been providing scholarship to the needy but talented students from every possible personal and academic background. In payback scholarship category, 2 students are from medical stream, 2 are from engineering stream and 1 each from law, B.Sc. (Environmental science) and BBS. In the scholarship category, out of 15 students in 10+2, PDRC has supported 1 student each from Education, Humanities and Management while rests 12 are enrolled in science stream.

The main objective behind providing these scholarships is to create and strengthen the environment for students where they can entirely focus on their studies, meanwhile they can also be more accountable to their family, community and the nation as a whole. An autonomous selection committee has employed a standardized procedure composed of written test and interview to select the awardees genuinely in merit basis.
